This weekend our MRSS partner, Le Flow des Gabarriers, took place in the Charente region of France.
Swimmers could choose from a range of distances, from the 1 km race in Cognac to the demanding ultra-distance events of 33 km and 42 km. Participants from several countries joined the event, which could also be followed through live tracking and live streaming.
According to the organisers, conditions were close to perfect, and the photos from the weekend show smiling swimmers, beautiful weather and a fantastic atmosphere both on and along the Charente River.
After the event, the organisers chose to highlight the many volunteers who make everything possible. In their thank-you message they wrote that “without them, there would be no Flow”, recognising the energy, commitment and dedication required to deliver an event of this scale.
Le Flow des Gabarriers is one of three events in the Marathon River Swim Series (MRSS), alongside UltraEbre in Spain and GlommaDyppen in Norway. Together, the series brings swimmers to some of Europe’s most unique river swimming experiences and offers the opportunity to explore three very different rivers, cultures and challenges.
Congratulations to the organisers and all participants on a successful 2026 edition. We now look forward to the next stop in the series, UltraEbre in Spain, before welcoming swimmers from across Europe to GlommaDyppen in August.
