Welcome to the first Open Water course of the year (Wet Card course)!

The course covers safety, technique and tactics in outdoor swimming. Registration MUST be done via tryggivann.no. There must be a minimum of 5 registered participants for the course to run as planned.

The course consists of a part “dryland” theory, swimming in a pool and swimming outdoors in open water, with the emphasis on the latter. Course participants are expected to work their way through the “Wet Card Course Booklet” by the end of the course. The booklet can be obtained by contacting one of the course holders, Roar A. Olsen (trener@fetsk.no) after you have signed up.

You must be able to swim to participate in the course. Age limit 8 years. Participants are welcome to use their own wetsuits, but you can also borrow wetsuits from us. More info on the first evening of the course.

The course costs NOK 300. There is an additional NOK 100 membership fee for Fet Svømmeklubb if you are not already a member. The latter so that you are insured during the activity.

You do not have to attend all the evenings to get the course approved. There will be opportunities to collect requirements in such a way that during the course period you obtain the Wet Card Basic, Blue, Silver or Gold levels. Extra course evenings are arranged for those who miss a session.

More information is given on the first evening of the course.

Note that the time and place for the sessions outdoors may have to be changed due to weather and wind conditions.

A separate first aid course will be organized for those who want it and are interested in the Wet Card Gold level.
